The National Reports on Flood Risk
The first-ever public evaluation of flood risk for every property in the U.S.
These national reports from the First Street Foundation provide a comprehensive national analysis of the state of flood risk in the continental U.S. and its economic impacts. They comprise over 800 visualizations combined.
Challenge
As a data visualization specialist, I was responsible for the data visualizations of two 120-page reports containing each around 400 distinctive charts, tables, and maps. The primary challenge was to deliver results within a tight timeline of three weeks while dealing with a significant amount of complex data and transforming it into insightful and easily understandable visuals.
Additionally, I supported the data analysis and narrative creation by delivering prompt and iterative visual insights to the data and research and development team.
As a testament to our work, the report and its visualizations got featured in numerous well-known publications such as The New York Times, USA Today, and Bloomberg.
